These are my Arnold Jacobs master class notes, which were taken at Northwestern University in the summer of 1993. I've noticed that there's not much on the web about Mr. Jacobs, so I've tried to make it a good starting point for finding more about Mr. Jacobs' teaching. This information will be of interest to brass players, woodwind players, and all musicians in general. To go directly to my Arnold Jacobs master class notes, click here.

Arnold Jacobs' passing on October 7, 1998 was a profound loss to the music world. I can say without hesitation that Mr. Jacobs was the most influential brass teacher of this century, a phenomenal tubist, and a great man. I can also say with confidence that had I not attended his master class at Northwestern University in 1993 I would not be where I am today. Mr. Jacobs was truly one-of-a-kind, and he will never be replaced.
