These lists are provided for informational purposes only. They do not mean that there are jobs available at these orchestras; these are just the audition lists that I've collected over the years. To find out about orchestral job openings, click here for the monthly AFM audition ads in their periodical, the International Musician.  For AFM members, you can also go to the AFM Website to view the ads on the 1st of each month.

Hopefully this will become a reference for those interested in looking at the various audition lists, and a resource for students who are looking at taking auditions in the future.  For additional information, I highly recommend you visit the IHS website and read the following article:

http://www.hornsociety.org/RESOURCES/articles/thomas-orgel_audition.html

The print form of this article can be found in The Horn Call, April 1983 Volume XIII, Number 2, p. 56-60, and is entitled "Auditioning for a Horn Position in the United States," by Seth Orgel and Brian Thomas.

I have attended some of the auditions listed below, but let me make it clear that I have not attended all these auditions (I am not a millionaire)!  When I see an opening in the International Musician, often I write the orchestra just so I can get a copy of the list for my information, or go to the orchestra's website- many times the list can be found there.  If you would like to contribute a list to this section, please e-mail it to me and I will try to add it.   My only requirements are, they must be an ICSOM or ROPA orchestra (or their equivalent), and out of fairness to the orchestras listed, I will not post a list until the audition date has passed. Thanks!

These lists have been scanned and saved in rich text format, which should work for both PC and Mac users.  Let me know if you have problems viewing the documents.  After viewing a list, to go back to the audition list index click the back button on your browser.
